Reflexology

Reflexology has traditionally been used in conjunction with conventional fertility therapies to help the women become pregnant. However it is the use of reflexology exclusively to treat infertility that is generating much interest. There are numerous stories from women who have only had reflexology treatment and subsequently become pregnant.

Fertility is reliant upon the secretion of appropriate hormones, which target reproductive organs in the body. A good reflexologist will pay particular attention to the Pituitary Gland reflex for the balance of hormone levels within the body, and will also use thumb-walking and pinpoint techniques to stimulate the reproductive system reflexes.

The evidence

One study in 1994 by the Danish Reflexologist’s Association found that, of 61 women under 35 who had been trying to get pregnant for more than two years, 15 percent became pregnant within seven to eight months of receiving regular reflexology sessions. Of two thirds of the women who had menstruation problems, 77 percent experienced a significant improvement, with the majority totally getting rid of the problems. Three quarters of all the women reported improvements in other ailments such as: muscle tension, indigestion, poor circulation and general imbalance
