3 month plan

This 3 month pre-conception plan has been devised to help you make the necessary changes to your diet and lifestyle while starting the process of fertility investigations. While gaining optimum health it is important not to waste time and simultaneously check out the health of your reproductive organs.

Month 1

GETTING STARTED!

Set a date to start your plan. Choose a time when your social diary is quiet and work pressures are at a minimum to make the transition easier.

Week 1

Recommended changes this week are:
  • give up toxic habits
  • start 3 day detox

Week 2

Recommended changes this week are:
  • change your diet
  • take appropriate vitamin and mineral supplements

Eat a healthy diet full of fruit, vegetables, fish, poultry, etc. Preferably organic. Most fruit and veg have been sprayed at least 10 times with toxic pesticides before reaching the supermarket shelves.

Vitamins recommended for both partners are 30mcg zinc, 100 mcg selenium, linseed oil 1000mg, 50 mg of Vitamin B6 and B12, 15 mg Vitamin E, 1000mg Vitamin C and for women only, 400 mcg folic acid.

Analysing a segment of your hair reveals what has been passed into the hair follicle in the previous 6-8 weeks. A detailed report of all essential vitamins and minerals is produced enabling you to identfy your deficiencies and make the corrections.

Week 3

Recommended changes this week are:
  • continue healthy diet
  • start exercising
  • see your Doctor

If you do not do some form of exercise already, now is a good time to start. Yoga, swimming, cycling and walking aare all good activities.

Make an appointment with your doctor to screen for sexually transmitted diseases. Many of the infections are symptomless and can be silently causing damage to your reproductive organs.
If either of you tests positive, often a simple course of anibiotics will remove the harmful bacteria. Results may take 2 weeks.

Week 4

Recommended changes this week are:
  • continue healthy diet
  • try alternative therapies

CONGRATULATIONS! You are at the end of the first month and have made significant inroads into improving your fertility. You have taken charge of your fertility and hopefully you will feel more confident about your future.

Months 2 and 3


These months are essentially more of the same. Continue the healthy diet, vitamin supplementation, exercise and alternative treatments. Above all, take time to relax, spend quality time with your partner. Start tracking your ovulation each month and actively have sex at the right time.
